The client required a tool that can help in efficiently producing their periodic factsheets covering fund performance, characteristic data, exposure, and holding data for one of their popular model portfolio offerings, in the event of a new fund launch.

SGA STRATEGIC APPROACH

SGA collaborated with the client to understand the types of data files required for fact sheet creation. After this, our team created a master file with organized relevant data and calculations to streamline the factsheet creation process. The company developed a customized tool for regular production and delivery of fund factsheets, maintaining a data repository for long-term performance analysis. This automated tool enabled the client in efficient management of their factsheet production while offering fungibility of mass factsheet production. 

Collaborative Review of Existing Process to Define the Scope & Flow of Automation  

SGA worked closely with the product owner at the client-end for model portfolio offering. This aided SGA in understanding end-to-end process, from data collection to final publication of factsheets with various systems/formats for data sources. As a next step, SGA meticulously organized the data flow in different sprints to define scope & flow of automation.  

Development of Feeder Files and Automation Tool  

SGA with its fund data SMEs and automation team developed dynamic feeder files that use raw data in a defined structure and format for the consumption of the tool. These feeder files streamline data and perform validation exercises to flag any data anomalies. SGA’s automation team developed the tool in phases to cover each process sprint and performed a test run using the last three-period data to confirm the efficacy of the solution.  

Regular Production and Delivery  

SGA established a robust system for the regular production and delivery of factsheets. This system used different business days to define timelines for each activity to ensure that the client receives up-to-date information in a timely manner, adhering to specified definitions and formats.   

SGA maintained a comprehensive repository of historical data & factsheets, providing the client with a valuable resource for long-period reporting (quarterly/annual/since inception). This approach not only enhanced the efficiency of the factsheet processing but also ensured continuity and reliability in the client's factsheet data management.
